First day of school in Stokesley

It has been such a long day here in rainy and cold England!

I woke up at 8:30 AM and got ready for my first day at Stokesley School. Neil (who I'm working with at the school this year) picked me up at around 9:30 AM, and we headed out to Stokesley which is about fifteen minutes away from Nunthorpe (where I call home). When we arrived, Amy (who I'm taking over for) was there and we all kind of hung out in the student center, and then we met with the head religion education teacher. It was good, but I really had no idea what they were talking about, so I need to learn a little bit about the British school system.

Then Amy and Neil went off to do something, and I sat in and observed an R.E. (religion education) lesson on 9/11. Haha, so that was interesting.....I can honestly say I've never heard an actual lesson on September 11th. We then ate lunch and drove around Stokesley and then Neil dropped me back off at home.

And, ever since then, I've just been hanging around the house with Nicole because Ste is at a meeting, and we watched the worst movie ever....Bend it like Beckham. Now we're watching another movie.

I'm off to another day at the school tomorrow, so I'm going to attempt to get to bed a little earlier tonight....but I bet that won't happen.

OH! So Nicole, Ste, Rebecca (who works some with Nicole and Ste), and I were sitting in the lving room and all of the sudden the doorbell rings and it's for me! I went to the door and I had a flower delivery from my wonderful family :)

Until next time.....

Kelsey,
Paul & I spent and entire day in RE classes during our visit last year. It's amazing that relegion can be taught in public schools but terrible that God has no part in the majority of these kids lives. You have such a great opportunity to show them how great life can be when God is in the center of it!
